Hello Operator Lyrics
Hello Operator
I would like to place a call
To the pale gray telephone
That is hanging on the wall.
I know this sounds crazy, but...
Could you patch me through?
So she does not hear me ringing,
I will wait. I've got nothing else to do.
So when she finally picks me up
Checking for a dial-tone,
To finger in the number of
Her new lover's telephone.
I will be resting on the earlobe that I used to hunt? and peck
I will slowly wrap myself around her pretty little neck
I'll begin the explanation as to why she cannot breathe.
You should not have been unfaithful
You should not have ever fucked with me.
I would like to place a call
To the pale gray telephone
That is hanging on the wall.
Could you patch me through?
So she does not hear me ringing,
I will wait. I've got nothing else to do.
Checking for a dial-tone,
To finger in the number of
Her new lover's telephone.
I will slowly wrap myself around her pretty little neck
I'll begin the explanation as to why she cannot breathe.
You should not have been unfaithful
You should not have ever fucked with me.

so good
i thought the line "you should know i've been unfaithful" was always "you should not have been unfaithful"
in my head it makes more sense in the context of the song.
the whole she's calling a lover and he is spiteful, so he cuts off her air, and while he's killing her he says "fuck you for cheating on me."
i just love the way bazans voice sounds at the end of this song.
i love the way david bazan sounds when he sang this for The Six Parts Seven - Lost Notes from Forgotten Songs
both versions are awesome though. :D
the song is called, A Blueprint Of Something Never Finished
my brother made an interesting comment after listening to this song that I rather like.
"Dave Bazan remembers one thing that a lot of christians forget- that God can be jealous."
I really like how clam he is the entire song till he says "You should not have ever fucked with me." His tone really wouldn't sound that vengeful or angry if he hadn't been so, controlling, I guess in the rest of the song.
the Blueprint of Something Never Finished version of this song is sooooo much better. great song nonetheless. love Bazan, cant wait for his new material.
Really disturbing and violent song... makes it quite powerful, though. Really well-written.
