For Lovers Lyrics
I'm running away with you
that's all i ever do
that's all we ever mean
I forgive you
everything
meet me at the railroad bar
about 7 oclock
we joke while the sun goes down
watch the lovers
leaving town
This is for lovers
running away
This is for lovers
running away
just for today
I'm running away with you
from yesterday's news
let's leave it all behind
help me back to my mind
I've paid the penalty
your the jailer rattling the key
but the key is mine
I keep a spare one every time
This is for lovers
running away
This is for lovers
running away
just for today
This is for lovers
running away
This is for lovers
running away
just for today
This is for lovers
running away

Oh my god. I have just seen this song on a Vodaphone advert. How tacky.
Pete Co wrote this with Wolfman, I think Wolfman wrote most of it though. It isn\'t that tacky, and i imagine he need the money
babyshambles still perform it though- along with lotsa libertines tracks. They need to fill up their setlist bigtime!
Pete did not co-write this song..at all...
Wolfman wrote this with The Side-Effects, and it only went big when Pete sang on it some years later...and i have never heard Baby Shambles do this, but i could be wrong...
I love this song so much. I think its the simplicity of it that makes it so beautiful
Pete wrote the following lines : "I've paid the penalty your the jailer rattling the key but the key is mine I keep a spare one every time"
