One Night Lyrics

One night with you
Is what I'm now praying for
The things that we two could plan
Would make my dreams come true

Just call my name
And I'll be right by your side
I want your sweet helping hand
My loves too strong to hide

Always lived, very quiet life
I ain't never did no wrong
Now I know that life without you
Has been too lonely too long

One night with you
Is what I'm now praying for
The things that we two could plan
Would make my dreams come true

Always lived, very quiet life
I ain't never did no wrong
Now I know that life without you
Has been too lonely too long

One night with you
Is what I'm now praying for
The things that we two could plan
Would make my dreams come true

Sounds like a guy who wants to have sex with a woman but he is married and is imagining how great it would be to be with her. He states that he, "Always lived, very quiet life I ain't never did no wrong. Now I know that life without you Has been too lonely too long." Or maybe he is not married and has just found a girl he knows is "the one"

I think your second idea is more correct ephil, as there isn't anything in the lyrics to indicate that he is cheating. As well, "The things that we two could plan Would make my dreams come true'" makes it sound like he would plan on getting married perhaps.

A 'lighter' version of 'One Night of Sin' which was originally written with strong themes of prostitution. "One night of sin, is what I'm not paying for"

I think it's `one night of sin is what i'm now paying for'. The version with diluted lyrics was released as a single, the uncut version emerged much later
