I know this will sound like a joke but..!
I think it\'s about his dad as i\'m sure you\'re all aware he\'s been through bad times with his parents and sister passing and although this seems light hearted and perhaps shallow on first appearence it\'s actually kind of deep, saying how he still appreciates the times they did spend together and the heartbreak is worth it for all of that...

Yeah I like to think that there's progression throughout it with the closing being a lot more frustrated than the attempted light hearted nature of the piece
Maybe he's also singing to his father as a reference to second childishness/mere oblivion (7 ages of man-As you like it-shakespeare) the way his father did for him as a child
