Blackouts on Thursday Lyrics
He's a bad mother fucker,
16 pairs of shoes
In a closet 6 feet deep,
And 6 feet wide and 6 feet high.
Blackouts on Thursday!
Total blackouts are where it's at.
I'm going back to high school
Where I can make out like a cat.
It's a shake down.
A mental breakdown,
Is this a take down?
We're gonna make out.
The band sort of sucks,
But the audience sucks too much.
I'm going back to high school,
Where the audience plays rough.
It's a shake down.
A mental breakdown,
Is this a take down?
We're gonna make out.
(Meet me in the parlor,
I'll stuff you full of snuff.
Meet me on the bearskin rug,
You love this sexy stuff.
Gibb, Syd, Seth, Pat, Tim:
Let's do it!)
I got myself elected,
I got myself rejected,
I'm gonna run again.
16 pairs of shoes

And 6 feet wide and 6 feet high.

Hey, THe song is called Blackouts On Thursday not blackouts I feel like its about scene kids.
the original version (from 3/5) is called Blackouts, the Inches version is called Blackouts on Thursday. same lyrics, different vocal levels and stuff. SO GOOD.
Even as far as Inches is concerned, there is some discrepancy. On the face of the disc, it's "Blackouts on Thursday," but in the liner notes it's simply "Blackouts."
And the line "but the audience sucks too much" does make me think it could possibly be about scene kids.
I don't know about everyone else, but I prefer the Inches version to the original. I think the vocal dynamics work better in the new version.
That bridge part where everything's fucking screaming and Tim's shouting "A-OH" on the every third beat sounds incredible in both versions. I can imagine that being insane live.
"meet me on the bearskin rug, you love that sexy stuff". christ, I love this band.
