Strangerman Lyrics

strangerman, well who are you
to leave this way, to leave this way
you changed your plans, you've burned your bridges
and you leave em this way, yeah you leave em this way
are you so aloof, that you trave directions,
when the winds change, when the winds change
when you walk ahead, you leave me behind

strangerman, you never know you never talk to me
oh, you never listen
and i had a voice you could not hear
i had warmth i could not share
you were cold as a stone
oh i was so alone
when you walk ahead, you leave me behind

oh when you walk ahead, you leave me behind

(....?....)

when you walk ahead, you leave me behind
oh when you walk ahead, you leave me behind

stangerman, well who are you
to leave this way, to leave this way

I haven't done any research on this song or anything, but this song makes sense to me if it's about his older brother or dad. My only reasoning is when i was growing up, i could share my life with my mom more than my dad when i was growing up. And it could've been his older brother, someone he looked up to that didn't want too much to do with his younger brother when he grew up. I'm reluctant to think the singer is gay and is talkin about some other guy.

I agree with Joseph but I think it might be more so about a father/son relationship and how it can be hard for a kid whose father doesn't really want much to do with them or pay attention.

To me, it's obvious. He's talking about a child who, just one in a million, had a "dead-beat" dad who never cared, was never there, who left him behind. One of the saddest songs I've heard in a while. Sooo pittifull.
