Sorry or Please Lyrics

Five weeks in a prison
I made no friends
There's more time to be done, but
I've got a week to spend
I didn't pay much attention
First time around
But now you're hard not to notice
Right here in my town
Where the stage of my old life
Meets the cast of the new
Tonights actors: Me and You

Each day is taking us closer
While drawing the curtains to close
This far, or further, I need to know
Your increasingly long embraces
Are they saying sorry or please?
I don't know what's happening, help me

Through the streets, on the corners
There's a scent in the air
I ask you out and I lead you
I know my way around here
There's a bench I remember
And on the way there I find
That the movements you're making
Are mirrored in mine
And your hand is held open
Intentionally
Or just what I want to see?

Your increasingly long embraces
Are they saying sorry or please?
I don't know what's happening, help me
I don't normally beg for assistance
I rely on my own eyes to see
But right now they make no sense to me
Right now you make no sense to me

this song is absolutely gorgeous. if you haven't heard it, get it nowwww.

i think its about a confusing relationship with a girl, at that point where you can't tell where the other person stands and it's on the heartstopping brink of starting a relationship. or something.

I think he's singing to a girl who's visiting, saying even though he's busy (his "prison", his job perhaps?) he still agrees to spare a week to spend with her.

He knew her before but didn't care to notice her. Now that he does he realizes more and more how much he likes her. Despite her actions, he isn't sure if she really likes him or if she's trying to say she's sorry for not being able to stay with him.

I love the references to the fact that she's showing an interest in him... or maybe it's just that he has an interest in her and wishes for reciprocation?

The internal conflict is simplistic and sweet.

i agree with the other comments, but I especially agree with Murasakivie ... that's so right on.

i've been thinking a lot on the past and a situation similar to this. it's so hard to decipher whether someone is being genuine or just acting out of pity or as a means to amuse themselves. oftentimes it seems i never find out the truth behind things, either. it's such a helpless feeling, merely wanting to know why someone says or does something and yet being unable to find out, for one reason or another.

I think this song is about a man and a girl he used to talk to, but their relationship didn't work out When they stopped talking to each other, a man haven't find someone new (Five weeks in a prison, I made no friends) He could not forget her

When a girl returned, a man was in doubted whether she came back just to play him or not Hence, the remaining of the lyric.
