Some Day One Day Lyrics
You never heard my song before the music was too loud
But now I think you hear me well for now we both know how
No star can light our way in this cloud of dark an fear
But some day, one day...
Funny how the pages turn and hold us in between
A misty castle waits for you and you shall be a queen
Today the cloud it hangs over us and all is grey
But some day, one day...
When I was you and you were me and we were very young
Together took us nearly there the rest may not be sung
So still the cloud it hangs over us and we're alone
But some day, one day...
We'll come home
But now I think you hear me well for now we both know how
No star can light our way in this cloud of dark an fear
But some day, one day...
A misty castle waits for you and you shall be a queen
Today the cloud it hangs over us and all is grey
But some day, one day...
Together took us nearly there the rest may not be sung
So still the cloud it hangs over us and we're alone
But some day, one day...
We'll come home

I think the reason that Queen made it so far is because they had three members who could really sing! Just listen to this song, Brian May's voice is just beautiful!! even though Freddie may have possesed the greatest rock voice, I wish May and Taylor would have sung more, they have such great voices too.
I just want to say that I love this song. It has a sound unlike any other song. Brian May is a song writing genius. I love the way the acoustic guitar and May's voice blend together in that beautiful folk style that he is so good at. This entire album is incredible!
Another fantasy song.
Before i saw Queen playing live in 1986 i was imagening that they would play this in an acoustic set with Brian taking lead vocals
Why have only so few people commented? This song is amazing. Brian May is a genius (with a lovely singing voice).
The first couple of lines in the song (you never heard my song before/the music was too loud) always seemed to explain Brian's views as a songwriter. He usually wrote Queen's heavie tunes (although Mercury and Taylor still wrote a lot of heavy stuff in the early days too.)
I always thought it was about a magical quest started by a prince in childhood and through all the years has journeyed to his princess fair.
Heh... I like this one.
One of my favorite Brian songs! Though Queen's completely ace at writing flashy, complex songs, I love the simplicity of this. It sounds like one of those songs that wasn't worked on for hours and hours, but was just done straight through without many changes. Could be wrong, but that's how it feels to me :)
I see this song as something of a love song dressed up with fantasy themes in the classic English folk style, I also agree with Rogerhamkid about the first line, though the "When I was you..." baffles me this is still one one oof the most beautiful love songs ever written.
When Brian wrote this, Queen was still struggling. They didn’t make anything until A Night at the Opera came out. I think he’s writing about himself and the band at that time (the clouds hanging over them and the reference of Queen is the band) and aspirations of making it big some day, one day.
