I like this song, it's a good song about longing for another person.
Truth be told, this song is actually about James and Maria's relationship from Silent Hill 2.
Actually the song itself was written for the Silent Hill 4: The Room soundtrack. I see how you might think it's about James and Maria's relationship, however the lyrics more pointedly imply the feelings of a young Walters being confused about who his true mother was (and thus attributing the room he spent his earliest years in as his "mother"). It's a pretty messed up story, but I love it.
Akira Yamaoka himself said the song was written about James and Maria's relationship in Silent Hill 2. Just because it's on the soundtrack doesn't mean it's about those characters.

I always figured this was about James and Maria (OR MARY...) but what about the lyrics,
