Never seen a blue sky
Yeah I can feel it reaching out
And moving closer
There's something 'bout blue
Asked myself what it's all for
You know the funny thing about it
I couldn't answer
No I couldn't answer
Things have turned a deeper shade of blue
And images that might be real
May be illusion
Keep flashing off and on
Free
Wanna be free
Gonna be free
And move among the stars
You know they really aren't so far
Feels so free
Gotta know free
Please
Don't wake me from the dream
It's really everything it seemed
I'm so free
No black and white in the blue
Everything is clearer now
Life is just a dream you know
It's never ending
I'm ascending
Yeah I can feel it reaching out
And moving closer
There's something 'bout blue
You know the funny thing about it
I couldn't answer
No I couldn't answer
And images that might be real
May be illusion
Keep flashing off and on
Wanna be free
Gonna be free
And move among the stars
You know they really aren't so far
Feels so free
Gotta know free
Please
Don't wake me from the dream
It's really everything it seemed
I'm so free
No black and white in the blue
Life is just a dream you know
It's never ending
I'm ascending

heh.. cowboy bebop rules..
This songs seems to be speaking of the freedom death brings; not that I take death lightly, but the series was about a man who thought he was already dead and didn't know if anything was real.
Yea, this song is about dieing. What I got out of it is: That life sucks and dieing is a better option. Don't wake me from the dream It's really everything it seemed I'm so free No black and white in the blue This is the part of the song that gave me that idea
No, this song doesn't say that life sucks and dieing is a better option. These are just the hidden thoughts of Spike. It was a really good anime, and it's a good song.
did Yoko Kanno write this?
The song is about Spike's final release. He was a prisoner of his past. When Julia died, it was the final tie to his past. Because he lived in the past, losing Julia was losing his reason to continue. All Spike had left was to find out if life was just a dream. The only way he could find that out was to die. The only person that could kill Spike was Vicious. The only person that could kill Vicious was Spike. So he went to fight Vicious, to avenge his comrades, and meet his end.
He dies ... and finds out life is just a beautiful dream... and ascends.
The angelic voices are singing "Esu Messiah ut, du me decantus." Which is a rough translation of Jesus the messiah sings to me. The song is about ascention to paradise. And eternal freedom in a never ending, pleasant plain of existence.

"Life is just a dream you know, It's never ending" this reminds me of the last word of Julia "It's all a dream", I always wondered what this means, maybe that life is only an evanescent short dream compared to the eternity of death? I don't know. I feel like this concept is related to their love story but I don't understand how.
Anyway, reading the lyrics, seems to me that the person who wrote this died and then came back to life telling us what is death. It' s totally crazy but the words sound so deep and realistic.
This song is like a blue sunny sky
