Foxhole J.C. Lyrics

Brothers, sisters
The war is coming so you better stand strong
Brothers, sisters
If peace was in this war if would have already gunned you down
I said get down, I said down
We got one unit lost and the others too proud
Down get down, down I said down
We got one unit lost and the others too proud

You're a foxhole Jesus Christ
Anyone can be a hero if they don't think twice
You foxhole Jesus Christ
Don't be a martyr, man
You're a foxhole Jesus Christ
Anyone can be a hero if they don't think twice
You're a foxhole Jesus Christ
You're a foxhole Jesus ChristÉ
I hope your funeral smells nice
I hope your funeral smells nice

Brothers, sisters
The war is coming so you better run fast
Brothers, sisters
If peace was in this war it would have already gunned you down
I said down get down, I said down
We got one unit lost and the others too proud
Down get down I said down get down
We got one unit lost and the others too proud

You're a foxhole Jesus Christ
Anyone can be a hero if they don't think twice
You foxhole Jesus Christ
Don't be a martyr, man
You're a foxhole Jesus Christ
Anyone can be a hero if they don't think twice
You're a foxhole Jesus Christ
You're a foxhole Jesus ChristÉ
I hope your funeral smells nice
I hope your funeral smells nice

War, war what is it for?

its a war protest song from what i can see.

From what I've read, its not as much a war protest song as a warning to soldiers to not do anything stupid trying to be a hero and getting killed because of it.

OutCold has it right. It's saying if you really want to be a hero you can be--but you'll probably end up six feet under. Better to swallow your pride than to lose your head.
