Vertebraille - Choke That Thief Called Dependance Lyrics

Like death never content. Starve the old and feed the new, and its all your fault.
Was there love once or have I forgotten her. it's all your fault.
I have been sold into slavery. I try to drown my sorrows but sorrow swim’s well. it's all your fault.
A lust for complete nothingness that lusts for more nothing.
Motion without meaning. Action without function. nothing will breed nothing. it's all your fault.
Why can’t you brace yourself?

I really like this new NJ sound. I've said it before, but their lyrics are returning to the style of Throwing Myself in that they're more based in punk anarchy asking questions why as opposed to the views of a melancholic holy trinity on Bless The Martyr. Can't wait for the new album, this song sounds like it's gonna be hot!

This song (to me) is about how dependance takes way any freedom we have and we need someone/something to motivate us. We loos any independance and in a way live meaningless lifes.

i love this song "I try to drown my sorrows but sorrow swim’s well." one of the best lyrics i have ever read. "A lust for complete nothingness that lusts for more nothing." another one of the best lyrics ever. but basically this song is self explanatory. but for the most part is sounds like a guy who had a girlfriend, and they were very active sexually, and then after awhile they rarely talk, they just have sex. "Was there love once or have I forgotten her" this lyric pretty much sums up his feelings for his girlfriend. he also talks a lot about the specific feelings he has.

Shamgod: Ever read the lyrics to Memphis Will Be Laid to Waste? I'd suggest you re-read them if you think Norma Jean doesn't talk about sex.

Not all of Norma Jean's songs are about god. They are a Christian band with Christian members, and some of their lyrics deal with Christianity, but not all of them. For example, the lyrics to "Cemetary Like A Stage" is about the death of his father. I think it's preposterous to try and trivialize a brilliant band like Norma Jean by pigeonholing their lyrics to featuring solely Christian subject matter.

ok, so to me this song is about sin, how its empty, and only leads to more... not sex, neither is Mamphis will be laid to waste, really man, what goes on in your mind? Mamphis will be laid to waste is about going through the motions in your walk with God, and not really living for him. i am trying hard hear not to sound "religious" ppl like that do piss me off. but, i am a borne agian Christian, and so are the ppl in Norma jean.
