Act III: Modulate Back To The Tonic Lyrics

(I’ve been trapped here for one hundred years
Blood, women and drink have been my only vessels on this vessel
Isn’t there a way out, now?
Brave friend horizon, bring me back to fourteen)

There’s a million ways out of the city
I don’t know one
His way was to pursue birds, with food in their mouths
Suitable for humans, snatching from them.
Then the birds would follow and snatch it back
And they would all be singing to each other gaily for miles
Parting at last with mutual expressions of goodwill
“Save him, save him”, they cried
Looking with horror at the cruel sea far below

We’re hanging from our ankles
We’re hanging from this spot
We're hanging from our ankles
...from this spot
My hand brings you back up on to dreary land,
to (?)form our end, form...(?)

(I’ve been trapped here for one hundred years
Blood, women and drink have been my only vessels on this vessel
Isn’t there a way out, now?
Brave friend horizon, bring me back to fourteen)

Indeed, a million golden arrows were pointing it out to children
All directed by their friendly sign, who wanted them to destroy their way
Before leaving them for the night.
In an unexplored patch as they rose and they spread,
Black shadows began to dawn on them.
The roar of the seas took prey, this is quite different now
And above all, we’d lost the certainty that you would live
When at last it had been steady again, he found himself alone in the darkness.

We’re hanging from our ankles
(is this exactly what you wished for?)
We’re hanging from this spot
()
We’re hanging from our ankles
(is this exactly what you wished for?)
…hanging from this spot

smoking gun that was a great idea but with alternating it all the way through, some parts didn't make sense.

I tired it on my own and found a pattern - The numbers stand for the line and the letter for whether it's from the frist verse or second.

[1A] There’s a million ways out of the city, [2A] I don’t know one. [1B] Indeed, a million golden arrows were pointing it out to children [2B] All directed by their friendly son, who wanted them to be sure of their way.

[3A] His way was to pursue birds, with food in their mouths, [4A] suitable for humans, snatching from them. [5A] Then the birds would follow and snatch it back [6A] and they would all be chasing each other gaily for miles [7A] Parting at last with mutual expressions of goodwill

[3B] Before leaving them for the night, [4B] in an unexplored patch as they rose and they spread, [5B] black shadows began to dawn on them. [6B] The roar of the seas took prey, this is quite different now, [7B] and above all, we’d lost the certainty that you would live

[8A] “Save him, save him”, they cried [9A] Looking with horror at the cruel sea far below. [8B] When at last it had been steady again [9B] he found himself alone in the darkness.

Ok I know this has nothing to do ith the content of the song and that every one probably already knows this. But the vocalist for this band is in like 20 other bands. Ok maybe not 20 but three popular bands. Well i would have liked it if he had stayed in Saosin but thats just my opinion.

Maybe the song has something to do with Peter Pan and how Wendy eventually wanted to go home. "Brave friend horizon, bring me back to fourteen" I think that talks about how she wants to fly back home (their home number on their street was 14). So I guess it's about being stuck somewhere you want to get out of?

Just a guess. Love the song, and the band is amazing. I give props to the person who saw that some of the lyrics were from Peter Pan, and thanks to whoever posted them.
