These Burgers Lyrics
When the world's got you down
Rainy Sundays, sunny town
Tropicana, canned foods
Botulism, damaged goods
See the hipsters in the park
Hair so styled, clothes so dark
Prefab molded hamburgers
I don't want a bite of yours
These burgers are crazy
These burgers are crazy
These burgers are crazy
These burgers are crazy
They don't like you, never will
They slip you the happy pill
Assimilation, so they think
Send you to the naughty shrink
You just tell him lies, lies
Paranoia, bugs and flies
You don't like them, never did
You don't like them, never did
These burgers are crazy
These burgers are crazy
These burgers are crazy
These burgers are crazy
Rainy Sundays, sunny town
Tropicana, canned foods
Botulism, damaged goods
See the hipsters in the park
Hair so styled, clothes so dark
Prefab molded hamburgers
I don't want a bite of yours
These burgers are crazy
These burgers are crazy
These burgers are crazy
They slip you the happy pill
Assimilation, so they think
Send you to the naughty shrink
You just tell him lies, lies
Paranoia, bugs and flies
You don't like them, never did
You don't like them, never did
These burgers are crazy
These burgers are crazy
These burgers are crazy

so has anyone seen the clip of adam green when he was on that classic mtv show, say what? it's really very funny, he's supposed to be singng to 'if you steal my sunshine' by len, and instead just says 'when i say these burgers, you say are crazy' and the crowd doesn't know what in the hell is going on. he's great.
I think it is a critique of consumerism and mass production, moldy peaches style of course. Not to mention it is a great vegetarian manefesto
Supercoolsome.
i think this song is talking about how everyone is kinda like "a prefab molded hamburger" because everyone is following somone else to be cool and that means u are falling in to somone elses mold i also think maybe somwhere in ther it is talking about mad cow deseise in which the burgers are "crazy" when they say "slip u the happy pill" they may be tallking about doing drugs to be cool i dont know just maybe...
I always thought that it was about individuality.
This line especially cements my beliefs
"They don't like you, never will"
It reminds me of middle school cliques, where people don't like others for miniscule reasons, and often times people are pressured into drugs. Also in the first verse the describe the "hipsters in the park" as people who have calculated appearances. I also thought that burgers meant people, cliques, or stereotypes.
i agree with the 2 above me its like all these "emo/hipster" kids try so hard to be different from everybody else taht they just fall under a group and there not individuals at all, its ridiculous.
see, the moldy peaches like to be just a weensy bit ironic..how could they possibly be making fun of hipsters? just look at adam green. hes got to be one of the biggest hipsters ive ever seen. it's more like a parody of the seriousness with which some people try to attack the whole hipster thing, and also, a riff on how ridiculous it is for a hipster to write an anti-hipster song. they use an intentionally retarded metaphor for conformity (prefab molded hamburgers) to jokingly show how dumb and contrived some anti-hipster attacks get. the whole second verse is mocking the self seriousness. its really not a big deal. theyre some people, and they dress this way. they're not trying to bring you into the fold or change your ways, theyre just hipsters being hipsters doing stupid hipster shit.
this song is obviously about the Burger Court (supreme court led by chief justice Burger) in its decision on "Garcia v. San Antonio Metro. Transit Authority."
Moldy Peaches express their dismay for the monumental decision by calling "These Burgers" (the 4 dissenting justices, including Rehnquist and O'Connor) crazy for not voting for Garcia.
Groundbreaking decision. Groundbreaking song.
