She Said, She Said (The Beatles cover) Lyrics

She said - I know what it's like to be dead, I know what it is to be sad
And she's making me feel like I never was born
I said - who put all those things in your head, things that make me feel like I'm mad
And you're making me feel like I never was born

She said you don't understand what I've said
I said no, no, no you're wrong, when I was a boy -
Everything was right x2
I said even though you know what you know I know that I'm ready to leave

'Cause you're makin' me feel like I never was born
She said [Repeat: x 4]

This is such a great rendition, it's funky, it's soulful and it's catchy. I love how it's so distinctively Black Keys-ey, but at the same time it stays true to the original.

This is a cover of a Beatles song (from the album 'Revolver')... It's about a conversation John Lennon had with Peter Fonda while they were both tripping on acid.

ok so it's like this: this was the first time Lennon Harrison and Ringo took acid WILLINGLY. The place was a big house in Hollywood. iDon't remember who's house it was, but three member of the byrds were the, (David Crosby, Roger McGuidiot and some other one) and Peter Fonda, as well as some reporter who somehow managed to get in. The 3rd byrd took him down to the billiard-room but apparently it was enough to make them nervous, and poor George Harrison got into such a paranoia he was afraid he was dying. So Peter Fonda says to him: don't worry, iKnow what it is to be dead" (he later explained that as a boy he was technicly dead for about a minute or something), and John Lenno, who caught this rant, was furious, and shouted at him: "Who put all this shit in your head, you know what it is to be dead?" or a minor variation of it. the phrase stayed at the first takes, before the song had a gender-changing operation, among others!
