Midnight in Her Eyes Lyrics
Midnight is in her eyes
Tear drops like a child
You never thought about going wrong
Now you wonder where your man has gone
Midnight is in her eyes
Lately you're feeling low
Heartache on the floor
Your manic ways have got the best of you
But your heart is gonna see you through
Lately, you're feeling low
I see her everywhere
Long amber hair
Calling out my name
I'm calling just the same
Midnight is in her eyes
Tear drops like a child
You never thought about going wrong
Now you wonder where your man has gone
Midnight is in her eyes
Tear drops like a child
You never thought about going wrong
Now you wonder where your man has gone
Midnight is in her eyes
Lately you're feeling low
Heartache on the floor
Your manic ways have got the best of you
But your heart is gonna see you through
Lately, you're feeling low
I see her everywhere
Long amber hair
Calling out my name
I'm calling just the same
Midnight is in her eyes
Tear drops like a child
You never thought about going wrong
Now you wonder where your man has gone
Midnight is in her eyes

i think this is about some kind of a bitch who thinks shes better than her man, but she will eventually want him back after he's already gone.
love this jam
This is one of my favorite songs by the black keys!! I just love the beat to it. :)
i always thought it was the guy whos done wrong and the girl who "never thought abt going wrong" n now shes "feeling low" - n he "sees her everywhere" i thought bc he misses her n feels bad for doin her wrong. - also "her heart is gonna see her through" it seems bc shes the one whos been hurt?
BUT now really thinking abt it, it seems like it can go the other way too. maybe "never thought abt going wrong" means she never thought twice abt the wrong she was doing him? n her "manic ways have got the best of her" bc she "feelin low" although shes been the one doin wrong - like she wants the best of both worlds?
i dont kno?? but im leaning towards my original thought, just seems right.
@Likestunes - "Your manic ways got the best of you" - the girl is clearly seen as the author of her own misfortune.
