I-88 Lyrics
I can't imagine what it would have been like,
If I'd have died in that car,
later on that night.
But thank God 'cause I'm still right here,
I'm still living the dream
and facing up to my fear.
Well I knew it before,
I even walked through the door,
That things would be just fine.
And I don't wanna think about,
The ways it could be turning out...
I'll never leave this sign.
Come on,
Don't let go,
I can't get through this I know.
We'll stay strong,
And push on,
'Til I can't take it anymore.
My friends 'til the end,
Don't even wanna say goodbye...
I'm feeling lucky just being alive,
I-88 was against me,
But an angel was by my side.
And now I see it all in a different way,
I see the road ahead,
The start of a brand new day.
And I knew it before,
I even walked through the door,
That things would be just fine.
And I don't wanna think about,
The ways it could be turning out.
I'll never leave this sign.
Come on,
Don't let go,
I can't get through this I know.
I'll stay strong,
And push on,
'Til I can't take it anymore.
My friends 'til the end,
Don't ever wanna say goodbye...
And I don't ever wanna die.
Or even come this close....anymore.
Come on,
Don't let go,
I can't get through this I know.
We'll stay strong,
And push on,
'Til I can't take it anymore.
My friends 'til the end,
Don't ever wanna say goodbye
If I'd have died in that car,
later on that night.
But thank God 'cause I'm still right here,
I'm still living the dream
and facing up to my fear.
I even walked through the door,
That things would be just fine.
And I don't wanna think about,
The ways it could be turning out...
I'll never leave this sign.
Don't let go,
I can't get through this I know.
We'll stay strong,
And push on,
'Til I can't take it anymore.
My friends 'til the end,
Don't even wanna say goodbye...
I-88 was against me,
But an angel was by my side.
And now I see it all in a different way,

I'll never leave this sign.
Don't let go,
I can't get through this I know.
I'll stay strong,

'Til I can't take it anymore.
My friends 'til the end,
Don't ever wanna say goodbye...
And I don't ever wanna die.
Don't let go,
I can't get through this I know.
We'll stay strong,
And push on,
'Til I can't take it anymore.
My friends 'til the end,
Don't ever wanna say goodbye

This song, like View from Heaven by Yellowcard, just means so much to me right now. My best friend died today, and she had been in a car crash on New Year's Day. The crash was actually on Interstate 88, too. This song seems like it was written for her, only with a different outcome in the end; this person lives, she died. I love this song, I love this band.
Olivia, miss you so much! Can't believe you're gone. RIP
I cry waterfalls whenever I hear this song. I love it. My friend died today as well, and this song is a reminder of her, because her dad died in that car, and the part where it goes "If I'd have died in that car later on that night" is really important, because my friend did NOT die in the car crash; she died at the hosptial after the car crash three days later. This song is so important to me, and I think the Plain White T's did a bang-up job with this one.
i think this song goes hand in hand with radios in heaven coz it sounds like a very similar story. it makes me cry every time i hear it
