I think this song is about getting the girl of your dreams but for whatever reason things don't work out and the girl doesn't want the man she was in love with anymore. She gets a new man and the original boyfriend still has to occasionally see her, with the new boyfriend. The dumped boyfriend cannot be doing with these feeling he has and prayers those feeling of his will go away.
