I think this song is about how we lie to ourselves. "Here in my mind.." "Deep in my heart.."
for me, this song is about how he may feel trapped in a world where he must do certain things but the liars will change things around for him. I mean I feel like he's crying out to tell his tale and have somebody believe him but nobody will because his world is full of lies or the people in it anyway are liars.
I think you are both wrong. This song to me seems to be about being unable to trust anyone with either our heart or our mind. Almost everyone tells lies or is at least capable of lying, so it is easy to lose faith in others and not trust anyone. I think that is what this song is about.
