Janitor Lyrics
Been two weeks now
Kitchen stinks now
Finally got the guts to saunter in
And don a pair of gloves
And the janitor sleeping in a drum
Janitor I've become
Bubbles bristles
Thorns and thistles
Liquid sticks to things
That never should be seen by anyone
Like the janitor sleeping in a drum
Janitor I've become
And it amazes me how easily things go away
A chemical for every need
And someone else's problem when I leave
Is the janitor sleeping in a drum
Janitor you'll become
You'll become
Kitchen stinks now
Finally got the guts to saunter in
And don a pair of gloves
Janitor I've become
Thorns and thistles
Liquid sticks to things
That never should be seen by anyone
Janitor I've become
A chemical for every need
And someone else's problem when I leave
Janitor you'll become
You'll become

This is my first song translation and I may be totally off. But this is what it means to me anyways,
I think that by Janitor the songwriter meant something to fix or to clean (as janitors do). Except the references to a janitor sleeping in a drum.. I think that by drum the songwriter is referring to some sort of drug or medication that cures sadness.
How I've come to figure that the person's sad is the beginning.
Been two weeks now < Been a length of time, not too long though Kitchen stinks now < Life isn't good anymore but used to be Finally got the guts to saunter in < Built up the courage to face the problem And don a pair of gloves < put the solution in motion
Bubbles bristles < Possible solutions to the problem Thorns and thistles < Aches and pains Liquid sticks to things < Old problems keep recurring That never should be seen by anyone < ^That no one really knows about
And it amazes me how easily things go away < Surprising how easily old ways of thinking fade A chemical for every need < A drug or human made product that can be used and there's one for every sort of problem And someone else's problem when I leave < Once people realize that these new things aren't fixing anything, someone else will have to think up a new solution
Is the janitor sleeping in a drum Janitor you'll become You'll become < The person who has to come up with the new solution
I think you're on to something here. Makes total sense when you look at it this way.

Sleeping in the drum is like the idea of a product called "Janitor in a Can (Drum)" but once you use it you become the janitor because you are the one cleaning
Am I the only one who thinks he killed the janitor? Say, about two weeks ago? Disturbing...
