Slaughtered Lyrics

One's own kingman, Christ person, Woman God
At battle with a mass astrengent
The bond that blends the weak to the wise
It's a safe assumption
that you'd want to save me now
But I'll never face castration
For your sacred sow is left slaughtered
Slaughtered

Brainwashed by me
Myself influence I
Bird brained
World saver
A fake god rests dead inside you
It's a safe assumption that you'd want to save me now.
But I'll never face castration
For your sacred sow is left
Slaughtered

System destroyed
Exposed and unployed
The fruit of intention
Cry for their dead
But turning their head to
Ignore reality's claw
Knife to your wrist
Syringe in your arm is your ounce of prevention
Give what you made
And under your name on your grave, is salvation
A big fucking joke

Slaughter the pig, the self rightous king for your own restoration
For your God is in your chest, and faith kills
What is precious, for death is unanswered

Slaughtered

Do sin
Do sin
Do sin
Do sin

its about how christians look down on sacrifice as being the tool of the devil yet animals are sacrificed daily so we can eat our rib fillets. hence 'For your sacred sow is left slaughtered'

this is about him standing up agaist the lies and wrong doings of religion. And about them not following the lies of any religion.

Wahoo! 2nd post! Why has no one posted much on this? Too bad... my favourite off "Far Beyond Driven", along with "Use my third arm", which is funny, they're the only two songs with no solo, it sucks. Anway, yeah, it sort of is along the lines of what the first guy said, about being angry at religion. The vocals are cool, very beast like, capturing the whole slaughtering of the animal thing. That riff is cool too, keeping with the old thrash metal, but moving on to a bit of hardcore, - I reckon this is a key album in the development of hardcore, (which I don't really listen much too). Top stuff by the best band ever.

...just posting again, the song sort of makes sense if you look at it as been through the eyes of satan. its about hating religion, which is pretty heavy, i'm a catholic, but still, the songs kicks ass

I love this song because I Know that some religions or just some churchs try to preach things to you that is just bullshit, they try to brain wash, dont get me wrong im sure theyre are other church's that aren't like this but the ones i've gone to suck. I dont go to church but i still believe in god and that stuff but in my own way i guess. and i Dont mean to offend anyone if they are religous

I think that this is a song about lashing out against religions that judge everything about you and try to convince you that you are doomed without them, all the while ignoring their own problems and imperfections.

It's pretty much about organized religion being a big lie, how it generally preys on peoples fears and desires for no real reward, and how having faith in an afterlife ruins the one life we do definitely know we have to live.

One of my favourite Pantera songs. It seems to me that they are condemning religion as a lie and a waste of a person's life.

I don't see that much can be gained by taking Josue's interpretation and seeing it through Satan's eyes. I doubt "Brainwashed by me" refers to embracing Satanism as an alternative to religion. Instead it is saying that we should use our own conscience for deciding what is right and wrong because "God is in your chest".

I think the line "The bond that blends the weak to the wise" may have been inspired by a passage (section 61) in Nietzsche's Beyond Good and Evil.

"religion is ... a bond which binds rulers and subjects in common, betraying and surrendering to the former the conscience of the latter"
