Seems to be about a girl who has been having sexual with some guy and then realizes that she's worth a damn and gets out of said relationship

I do believe this is about a prostitute. like other songs of theirs have refered to. Lyla i think

That's what I thought too, when I read the lyrics to both this song and Lyla. (I haven't actually heard the songs themselves yet...)

This can be taken many ways.

The promiscuous girl fell in love. She's taken.

or my favorite as a more feminist song;

The girl won't be treated like a whore any longer. Just leave her be. It's satire saying "leave me on the corner" she's still who she is, but she's not for sale anymore. You can't push her around anymore.

right. either literal or metaphorical this song is the shit. "i'm not for sale anymore", i am my own, you can't have me anymore.

I don't think this is literally about a prostitute. I think these lyrics describe a feeling that can apply to anyone, not specifically to prostitutes. she seems to be renouncing her love for someone or just getting a spine and telling someone that he can't treat her like shit anymore. that's my take.

maybe they just made it to make us feel something... maybe they're not even completely sure of it...

Yeah, pretty obviously about a prostitute, at least in the literal sense.

I like how it's clear that even though she's not for sale anymore, she's still "on the corner." She's still homeless and on the streets, but she's no longer allowing herself to be abused.
