'She loves the way they love her' was originally a Zombies track, written by Rod Argent and Chris White. There is a demo version of the song on The Zombies compliation album 'Afterlife', with Rod Argent taking the lead vocal. Not to say it couldn't be about Caroline Munro too, but I think the song you're thinking of is 'Caroline goodbye', which Colin wrote about the break up with his actress / model girlfriend.
