I love the type of imagery this song calls up.
I guess this is a coming of age song of sorts. "All i want is one more chance to be young and wild and free," before facing responsible adulthood.
im thinking maybe hes at his high school name tag (notice the references to high school stuff and a name tag) while hes there he sees a woman he loved. she hasnt changed... he realizes that he wants a chance to be young and back in high school again and tell this woman that she was right for him...

Until I heard Stars perform this song, I thought that Torquil sang "Nearly died, it felt so cool." I think I like it this way better. I really identified with that feeling, that you're a teenager, and you've got it all figured out. You're doing things that are so new to you and life is exhilarating because of it. I liked interpreting it as if they were inhaling something that was completely harmless, but they felt so cool from doing it, that they almost died. Of course, "Nearly dying felt so cool" works too, but it doesn't trigger that same spark of a memory for me.
yah he's at his high school reunion and he remembers how it felt to be so "young and wild and free" and wants to like that again, and also he sees a women he used to date, who probably dumped him and she's completely changed, just like he has ("you're reassembled just like me") but he still wants to show her that she was right for him, maybe even have a wild and free night with her. haha.

I love that line. The imagery in the song is incredible. It makes me so happy. I always bop along when I listen to it.
