Them That Got Lyrics
I'm getting down to the last pair of shoes
Can't even win the nickel bet
Because them that got
are them that get, so
I aint seen nothing yet
I see folks with fine cars and fancy clothes
That's why they're called the smarter sect
because they managed to get
what them that got are supposed to get
and I aint seen nothing yet
Them that got
and them that get
are something I can't see
You gotta get something
before you can get something
how you get the first is still a mystery to me
I see folks with fine cars and fancy clothes
That's why they're called the smarter sect
because they managed to get
what them that got are supposed to get
and I aint seen nothing yet
I aint seen nothing yet
I aint seen nothing yet
Can't even win the nickel bet
Because them that got
are them that get, so
I aint seen nothing yet
That's why they're called the smarter sect
because they managed to get
what them that got are supposed to get
and I aint seen nothing yet
and them that get
are something I can't see
You gotta get something
before you can get something
how you get the first is still a mystery to me
That's why they're called the smarter sect
because they managed to get
what them that got are supposed to get
and I aint seen nothing yet
I aint seen nothing yet
I aint seen nothing yet

What I love is how this is a Ray Charles song, and when you think of literal translation versus actual meaning. "I ain't seen nothing yet." I think from Ray's point of view it was just trying to say that generally, it's the rich who get richer and the poor who get poorer, and God knows when he's gonna get his fill. Somehow, he's gonna have to manage to get what them that got are supposed to get, but so far, he ain't seen nothing yet.
It's true, though. You gotta get something before you can get something, but how in hell do you get it in the first place?
isnt this called "I Aint Seen Nothing Yet"
