Animals On Wheels Lyrics

Am I your pussycat? I know what’s new
It’s the oldest hat in the book
We can’t get fast enough to go backwards
To take a second look

Animals on wheels faster all the time

Some want to leave us and go to another planet
And blow up the earth
They’d still be murderous, lying and they’d want it all

For whatever it’s worth

Famous is fast
You don’t have to be talented or do good work or be smart
It’s perfect for me
But every time I go after it
My ideals run off with my heart

Cover art for Animals On Wheels lyrics by Sam Phillips

I actually asked Sam Phillips what this song means, and she wrote the following:

"The first line is referencing the song "What's New, Pussycat?" and the bible verse that states there's nothing new under the sun. Opposites attract!

"I'm afraid that is all the explanation I can give you. I just write'em, I don't know exactly what they mean."

I asked her because I was planning to cover the song. You can hear me at: www.soundcloud.com/theakelley

@theakelley Thank you for sharing that! I followed your band camp link and did not see the cover - is it posted anywhere else?
