Who Could Win a Rabbit Lyrics
Hungry bread and butter hustle
You've been doing it a while, it is only fair
Where's your relaxation?
Where's the time required for your health?
Been hating on my new perspective
But hurrying along, no meal is ever done
You could win a rabbit, you could have a rabbit or
If the fast child is gonna have a dead hand
We can get him started, yeah
Bad mind, let me put on good habits
Been working to put on good habits
Sometimes I can't find my good habits
Oh, Spanish bands use all the echo
Persian kitties better stay out of the train
Glad you brought your food on
Eat it like it's gonna get away
Your coffee sure is getting colder
The seats are getting fewer
Place is losing space
You could win a rabbit
You could build a rabbit with a rib
Rabbit or habit, habit or rib
Wabbit or habit, habit or rib
Rabbit or habit
You've been doing it a while, it is only fair
Where's your relaxation?
Where's the time required for your health?
Been hating on my new perspective
But hurrying along, no meal is ever done
You could win a rabbit, you could have a rabbit or
If the fast child is gonna have a dead hand
We can get him started, yeah
Bad mind, let me put on good habits
Been working to put on good habits
Sometimes I can't find my good habits
Persian kitties better stay out of the train
Glad you brought your food on
Eat it like it's gonna get away
Your coffee sure is getting colder
The seats are getting fewer
Place is losing space
You could win a rabbit
You could build a rabbit with a rib
Rabbit or habit, habit or rib
Wabbit or habit, habit or rib
Rabbit or habit

about a man fed-up with his gluten allergies who paints his walls with rabbits blood
Well I think these lyrics would make a lot more sense if you ever worked in the restaurant business. There are a lot of lines in here that reflect the mood and atmosphere of working at a restaurant (I work at Pappadeaux and this song feels just like home). Things like "Hungry bread and butter hustle" is just the act of trying to refill your many tables with butter while trying to do a million other things. "Where's your relaxation? Where's the time required for your health Been hating on my new perspective. Been Hurrying along no meal is ever done" Working long shifts 5 times a week really does put a damper on your health, as does it change your perspective about a lot of things, such as discriminating against minorities because they don't tip well, or things along those lines that you didn't previously think. "Bad mind let me put on good habbits been working to put on good habbits some times I can't find my good habbits." You pick up a lot of bad habits working in the fast paced atmosphere of a restaurant, most you don't normally do outside of your work. You aren't happy about them, but you have to do it to do your job. Other lines like "Glad you brought your food on Eat it like it's gonna get a way this coffee sure is getting colder the seats are getting fewer space is losing place" again seem to just talk about life as a server at a restaurant. Now the whole "could you win a rabbit?" thing is what really confuses me about this song, perhaps it has to do with some small gimick an AC member had to promote as a server to his tables, or something along those lines. I'm not entirely sure about this meaning of the song, it just seems a lot of these lines were heavily influenced by being a server at a restaurant
this makes me want to catapult out of my window...
through the glass..
with my introverted cat...
during a thunderstorm...
wearing.. metal.. haha
haha I like how everyone subconsciously related this song to there own problems. The song meaning is pretty obvious. It's about how most people rush through life and dont really slow down to realize the awesomeness that is around them. They just try to do all the right things that arent really right. But society has forced us into these bad habits. So really i think this song is dedicated to anyone who works a full time job and is caught up in the hustle and bustle bullshit. This becomes more apparent considering AC was living in New York when they wrote this. They where observing all these people rushing around for no real reason. Trying to win a "rabbit" which would be the prize at the end, when really all they are doing is developing bad habits like poor eating.
Its about a nun in a spanish orphanage who gets bored with her day-to-day life and makes the children compete for food (Who could win a rabbit with a rib?)
I'm getting the impression that this song is about someone with bulimia, through all of the references to food, eating quickly, and bad habits. As well as trying to form new, better habits, and "hating on my new perspective"? That really just pulls the whole thing together.
the words in this song don't just consist of random phrases strung together. if you listen carefully at the beginning of the track, you can faintly hear a man talking about food stamps and a store, subjects which fit well with the first few lines of the song.
Awesome Vocals
Oh man, this really looks like random words put together to form sintatically correct sentences.
"Words should be like station" It sounds different... sounds like something ending in "kitchen" rather than "station".
Excelent song, by the way. :)
Good song, wierd video: http://www.fat-cat.co.uk/amcollective_large.mov esp. at the end with the weird sounds and the rabbit eating the hare...way wierd.
