He Lied About Death Lyrics
What gives you the right?
To fuck with our lives?
A devil born in paradise
A liar loves to lie
Keep watching your back
Killers always have killers on their track
Keep watching the sky
'Cause you might get lucky again
I hope your drunken daughters are gay!
You are the shadow of fear!
You scare the love out of here
Like an ape in a cage
Small white man in a rage
Mellow suit, mellow smile
Limousines down murder mile
Limousines down murder mile
Watch the devil's at play!
Drain the bottle empty
California today
Tomorrow it's you and me
To fuck with our lives?
A liar loves to lie
Keep watching your back
Killers always have killers on their track
Keep watching the sky
'Cause you might get lucky again
You are the shadow of fear!
You scare the love out of here
Like an ape in a cage
Small white man in a rage
Mellow suit, mellow smile
Limousines down murder mile
Limousines down murder mile
Watch the devil's at play!
Drain the bottle empty
California today
Tomorrow it's you and me

"Keep watching the skies Cause you might get lucky again"
kozmik: Speak for yourself. This ties with "Your Ex Lover is Dead" for my favorite song on the album.
obv. a george w. critique. by canadians, nonetheless. how come they always have their shit together? ha. i love canada. and stars. what a great album.
this song is great. its hidden in the begining, and you dont necessarily know what its about, but man do you in the end.
Small white man in a rage... I think that sums up the songs meaning
it's obviously not just about gwb, i don't think. you could feasibly relate to it from any political side of the spectrum: the ceo as he squashes the little man, the powerhungry politician as he ladder-climbs, the well-off heir who is respected not for anything he's done but his money and power.
"i hope your drunken daughters are gay!" is a statement yelled not just at george, but at all those tightwads with small minds who oppose gay marriage.
It's about George W Bush and the Iraq war, according to the singer when I heard it performed live.
the daughters thing is a giveaway. george bush jr, that's who they're singing about.
"I wrote "He Lied About Death" as a rant against George Bush, but I specifically didn't mention his name. It can be about Osama Bin Laden or anyone [like that]. They're just not decent people. They don't live like the rest of us. They're perverts and we're going to call them out for what they are. Dick Cheney is a pervert and a sociopath. If he wasn't doing what he's doing now, he'd be out raping women. Some perverts go to jail, some go to the White House. Those are they only places they can go, into jail or into politics."
so it is primarly about GWB but also about people like him.
Keep watching your back Killers always have killers on their track
Think the secret service might have something to say about this line?
If the Secret Service knew what this song was about, they would probably put Amy and Torq on some list, especially with lines like
"Keep watching your back Killers always have killers on their track "
