Before Baywatch Lyrics

Electric summer of 1984
Pacman fever, man they just found a cure
My Huffy was stolen from the ice cream parlor
I tried to stop him but he peddled away, a perfect end to a terrible day
Not to mention I missed a guest apperance of Bobby Grich
Oh oh oh oh oh awoh

The cruise control in a Camaro can only last so long.

It depressing when your girlfriend leaves you for a guy named Toby

The cruise control in a Camaro can only last so long.

Summer's coming and things were bound to change
Checkered Vans were cool and we weren't ashamed
Boy I'll miss her dark brown hair and her jelly sandles
When the goings good you never want to stop.

My feelings never spoken and my heart has been broken, before Baywatch came it was gonna change my life.

Cover art for Before Baywatch lyrics by Donuts N Glory

This is a song about the singer's memories from the 80's. Just a bunch of nostalgia for the early 30's to late 40's crowd (ergo.. people who were young in the 80's). It is especailly relevant if you grew up in So Cal. Checkered Vans were popular here then and Vans shoes didn't exist outside the state at the time. Bobby Grich was a player for the California Angels baseball team. BMX bikes were popular at the time and Huffy made cheap ones you could buy at K-Mart etc. Not sure about Jelly sandals but I remember girls wearing them when I was in elementary school.
