i dont have a clue what this songs about but its one of my favourite by franz. The chorus reminds me of having an argument with my dad

I think the meaning behind this song is that whoever he's singing about is very distant, and their relationship is a bit meaningless. Take the first verse: There's only wind and dust to follow Your footsteps on the run (meaning she's never there) You know me, know when I'm without you I swear my heart burns in the sun (he hates being without her)

and then the chorus - don't start walking awa (in other words, don't leave me?)

2nd verse: I see you in your glasses clearly Your shades are blinding me, I say (He knows what she's really like and what he should do, but he tells himself differently) I miss you most when you are with me I miss your missing me each day (he feels he isn't close to her, and he misses that she doesn't feel as attatched to him as he is to her)

This is just my interpretation, you know what these guys are like and for all we know it could be to do with some long forgotten battle, or something else just as clever ;D

I'm surprised there are not more comments on this one, I think it's quite good. The general concept reminds me of 'Walkaway', in the sense that I feel the guy is not sure about letting her go or not...If she's good to have around or she should be leaving.

I once did this really long interpretation of this, that like...She keeps leaving him and coming back, generally playing with his feelings, and he really loves her and in a way wants revenge ("I miss your missing me each day"), but she's acting like someone she's not, or changing ("I see you in your glasses clearly"), and he's starting to wonder if he knows the real her ("Your shades are blinding me, I say").

This song is really quite good. I think its about an on-off relationship he had with a girl. and every time they had an arument she would always just walk away and he wanted to try and sort things out. It drives him mad every time she walks away from him so he follows her about trying to make up with her.

this song starts of feeling very beatle-esque...
