This is a fantastic catchy tune. No idea what it's about, but I don't really think it matters.

Its amazing. I think the meaning is pretty obvious.

What everyone else said basically - about standing out in a croud. I love the allusion to Oscar Wilde as well

is a reference to the famous lines from Lady Windermere's Fan: "We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars." This was also used as the tagline for the film of Wilde's life starring Stephen Fry; probably because it's such a great quote about standing out from the croud.

i agree with your comments and i love the song especially for it's lyrics, but i had a really weird experience at an ash show when 400 people were singing along to this song...i wasn't sure whether to believe that there are that many people who like to be different and be glad about it or feel that the lyrics don't mean as much if hundreds of people sing along to them.
