Bloodbath are THE kings of morbid, grooovy death metal. If I could ever hear them live, I would probably explode in a bloody burst of joy =) That being said, I think anyone who dislikes this band have the wrong idea of what to look for in their music.. Death metal lyrics are not at all meant to be poetical, just like the songs arent exactly composed by baroque methods. Death metal lyrics are stupid, grotesque, funny and neat. Bloodbath is in fact just a sideproject, made by people from different metalbands, basicly just so they could get their aggression out by growling horrible things and pound the living crap out of their instruments. And still, they do it in very clever ways, if you care to notice. Anyway, Bloodbath is a very extreme band, some like it and some dont. Personally, they give me the shivers like few others can.

This song is about Armin Meiwes, a Cannibal from germany. Since none of you have mentioned this yet, I might as well bring it up.

Armin Meiwes put an add up on a website asking for a "well-build 19-30 year old looking to be slaughtered and consumed". One man responded to this, and the two met on December 25th. The story is, that Armin tried to bite the mans penis off, but couldn't, so he used a knife instead. The man even tried to eat his own thing, but couldn't, so they cooked it instead. Then it was too burnt to eat. The man bled in a tub for three hours untill Armin finally stabbed him to death in the throat and hung him on a meathook in a room called "the slaughter room", built specificly for this purpose. He ate him for the next year or so untill someone finally called the cops when they saw the add online. The man who originally responded to it was completely willing, and they even made a two-hour video together, videotaping the entire thing. guiffporn I can understand that if you dont listen to deathmetal youre probably not gonna like bloodbath, thats pretty obvious. And your friend is right, the band is great,

I think Bloodbath are more thrash than death metal (I listen to both), I just don't think Bloodbath are anything special.

I have a T-shirt that has the cover of this album on the front, and on the back it says "SUCK MY GUTS" in big letters. It gets some pretty nice reactions. I wish they played shows.
