Me and America or the United Colors of the Gap Lyrics

PS: Please be my salvation
You with a few too little teeth, a tooth or two too few
Outline my body and mimic my lips
Though the only thing we've in common is none of them
Can tell the difference between us
Be my patron saint
Sleeping in (be)side me

Education, medicine, defense
A sandwich and a beer
Gotta have a place to go to go to

Can't stand still sitting still
With your asshole scabbed over
And time your only currency
Gotta have a place to go to go to

Be my patron saint
Sleeping in (be)side me
Though the only thing we've in common is none of them
Can tell the difference between us

Sing one if by lips and two if by teeth

Beautiful song. What do you think the "one if by lips..." part means?

Beautiful, beautiful song. And to tastemaker, that part is obviously a reference to the line, "one if by land, two if by sea." For when the british were coming, either by land or sea. But in this case, I have no idea what either implies.
