Here Comes the Summer Lyrics
Last day in May the afternoon
Remember
Black marks of charcoal from the dune
Remember
I thought it wouldn't be too soon
We'll wait at least until it's June
The twenty-ninth of March it rained
Remember
You'd look so sad that I explain
Remember
You knew it wouldn't be too soon
We'll have to wait until it's June
I've been waiting since I don't know when
And now it finally seems about to start
I swear I swear that I will do my part
December dark at six o'clock
Remember
The freezing wind gives you a shock
Remember
You knew it wouldn't be too soon
We'll have to wait until it's June
October damp on down the street
Remember
The sodden leaves stuck to your feet
Remember
You knew it wouldn't be too soon
We'll have to wait until it's June
I've been waiting since I don't know when
And now it finally seems about to start
I swear I swear that I will do my part
July the third we stayed up late
Remember
And thought how long we'd have to wait
Remember
It'll be so long until it's soon
It'll be so long until it's June
Remember
Black marks of charcoal from the dune
Remember
I thought it wouldn't be too soon
We'll wait at least until it's June
Remember
You'd look so sad that I explain
Remember
You knew it wouldn't be too soon
We'll have to wait until it's June
And now it finally seems about to start
I swear I swear that I will do my part
Remember
The freezing wind gives you a shock
Remember
You knew it wouldn't be too soon
We'll have to wait until it's June
Remember
The sodden leaves stuck to your feet
Remember
You knew it wouldn't be too soon
We'll have to wait until it's June
And now it finally seems about to start
I swear I swear that I will do my part
Remember
And thought how long we'd have to wait
Remember
It'll be so long until it's soon
It'll be so long until it's June

"I tore the damp on down the street Remember "
I'm really not sure about this line. I will have to check the lyrics when the CD comes out.
"october damp on down the street: remember? the sodden leaves stuck to your feet: remember?" i love the damn ep.
that makes so much more sense. thanks; I'll fix it. now if only I could find EP somewhere other than Amazon, I'd be all set...
good gosh this song is good.
romance is associated with summer and warm weather. this same associated with time and love is used a few times in the EP.
Its cool how the song goes backwards as they reminice about the previous year on the night before the new summer begins. A new summer is truly a new beginning. Everything from the old year is gone and you get to make a fresh start.
