Mindcircus (Gabriel & Dresden Mix) Lyrics

Falling in,
Six hours from morning,
And falling in,
Sink me off to sleep

So come along within,
I think it's time to let me in,
I'm tipping my foot very close to the edge,
And just a few more of your seconds,
And I need for me to repair
To neatly stand and spin it around in my head, yeah

Oh can I please have some silence?
Oh can I please have some silence?
Oh can I please have some silence?
How about some space?

Almost, ready to drift now,
And I feel myself slipping inside you,
Just a little further
Before something drags me back
So close, I thought I nearly had you there
I'm so tired, I gotta sleep,
I wanna wake up from a dream,
I've had enough, I need to sleep,
I wanna wake up without you here

So come along within
I think it's time to let me in,
I'm tipping my foot very close to the edge,
And just a few more of your seconds,
And I need for me to repair
To neatly stand and spin it around in my head, yeah

Oh can I please have some silence?
Oh can I please have some silence?
Oh can I please have some silence?
How about some space?
Yeah

Oh can I please have some silence?
Can I have some space?

Oh can I please have some silence?
Oh can I please have some silence?

this person (A) is in love with another person (B). but person B is giving all sorts of mix signal. so person A is just going through this "mindcircus". A thinks he/she is getting so close to B at times ("I'm tipping my foot very close to the edge"). But at times, A wants to let B go so A won't be in this state of confusion any longer ("Almost, ready to drift now"). But then "something drags me[A] back" in. Confusion/frustrations continues...

I always thought this song could be about a night of drugs and the desire for it to come to an end and just go to sleep. I remember at the end of a night of too much fun trying to get my mind to stop whirling so I could settle down enough and go to sleep.

Hmm I never thought of this song as a love song. I always assumed it was about drugs. It seems she is using drugs to help her capture a certain feeling that she is relating to sleep, but is unable to do so.

Drugs, or even pure insomnia creates a solid mindcircus in your head. Even when not depressed, the feeling of too many people in my head prevents me from sleeping. I know it really first hand, its someone who knows me wrote it :)
