Down on my knees down on my face
You just say it's ok
So many days I've thrown away
You just say it's ok
I don't think I could ever repay
Your perfect grace, but it's ok
It's ok, It's ok
It's ok, It's ok
You've become my embrace
Just tell me it's ok
Your precious words intoxicate
A heart that aches; it's ok
You don't recall my past mistakes
You just say it's ok
The human mind can't calculate
Your perfect grace, but it's ok
Even though you've seen a thousand times
I've let you down
You're always there if I should call your name
You're unashamed, unashamed
You just say it's ok
So many days I've thrown away
You just say it's ok
I don't think I could ever repay
Your perfect grace, but it's ok
It's ok, It's ok
You've become my embrace
Just tell me it's ok
A heart that aches; it's ok
You don't recall my past mistakes
You just say it's ok
The human mind can't calculate
Your perfect grace, but it's ok
I've let you down
You're always there if I should call your name
You're unashamed, unashamed

This song is fairly straightforward. It's talking about God's forgiveness and grace, and that no matter what we do He will still just say "It's OK"
mm7, this song can be about God. Please don't disregard that right away. Members of Mute Math have spiritual aspects, and have even been part of the Christian band Earthsuit. However, when he talks of "you don't recall my past mistakes", he isn't saying that God forgets them. However, in Psalm 103:12, the Bible says "as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us." You see, God doesn't forget our sins, because forgetting means that He can just as easily remember them. However, God CHOOSES to remember them no more. He removes them from us. See, when God looks at us, He sees us as we are, and if we ask for forgiveness for our sins, then He'll look at us without seeing those sins. He'll remove them from us as far as the east is from the west.
by the way... what do you make of the line "The human mind can't calculate Your perfect grace, but it's ok"? You think that's about another human's grace? I think not, because a human can easily understand the grace of another human, but cannot understand the Grace of God...
plus, the line that says "You're always there if I should call your name" - how can that be about a girl??? What girl have you ever known who appears out of nowhere when you call her name? I thought so. Think this through. Only God, and more so His Son, Jesus, appears when you call on His name. Jesus is there for us whenever we need Him, all we have to do is believe in Him and call upon Him.
Right on!! :D
Right on!! :D
The human mind can't calculate Your perfect grace, but it's ok
deffently talking about God , i think, the human mind cant calculate Your perfect grace,, only God has perfect grace, an if it was a human , a human mind could calculate a humans garce
I think it's about a relationship.
Like, he keeps messing up, doing the wrong thing but she forgives him every time, saying it's ok.
very cute song

Mute Math is a christian band, and second this song is about God. 1st they say it in an interview with Alternative press they're a christian formed band. And second in the videos they post on myspace they have royal rangers banners which is a christian ministry.
Actually, they are not a Christian band. Although each member is Christian, they are not a Christian band. Paul Meany has said this in interviews, and they dropped their original record label because it was marketing them as a Christian band. Why do you think they wrote "Electrify"? They want their music to be open to everyone to listen to, and they feel that being called a Christian band would not allow them to do this. So no, they are not a Christian band. However, they write their lyrics in a way that allows each listener to interpret their songs...

And a "Christian formed band" means that they are Christians in a band, not a Christian band.
You don't recall my past mistakes You just say it's ok(Jesus nevers brings up past mistakes) The human mind can't calculate Your perfect grace, but it's ok(who else is perfect and has perfect grace other then jesus) Even though you've seen a thousand times I've let you down( I think a girl would dump you if you let her down so many damn times) -_-
You know, while this does have a lot of religious imagery in it, and while it does sound like it would make a sweet love song, it could also just be referring to a good friend. Did that cross anyone else's mind but mine? (Not meant to sound offensive; that was a serious question.) I mean, with some friends, you can screw up time after time, but they'll still forgive you because they love you and care about you that much. And like the song says, if you reach out to them, they'll still be there for you. It's a rare kind of friend, sure, but it exists.
Awesome song!! Once again a song about multiple meanings!! And to my opinion everyone's opinions is great!!
Clearly in this song, Paul is under the influence of theories about imaginery friends. "Talking just like I was taught"
Mute Math is not a Christian band, and this isn't a reference to god ethire. It's about the love of his life, being forgiving of his 'wrong' actions.
Besides, if it was a metaphor to 'god's grace, then how do you account for "You don't recall my past mistakes"? god doesn't forget. Or if he does, he fails at his job of being god.
Why do you people all associate everything with your religion? Are you that brainwashed?
Its not saying he forgets. its saying he doesnt recall them. God will forgive you of your mistake and wont bring it back up as if he threw it away.

they are not a christian band but the people in the band are christian and i know its hard for you to understand but when you've been born again you have a whole new worldview through Jesus.

They're not a Christian band, but they write their lyrics in such a way that allows them to be interpreted by anyone.

They're not a Christian band. No band has to be a Christian band to write a song about God, heaven or any other aspect of spirituality.
