Law Of Averages Lyrics
And we wait (we wait) for the fog to roll in
Take a deep breath before we’re back on the road again
I killed the forest with just one match.
Killed the forest with just one match
You could see the dark
smoke clouds
as the ash rained down,
With no regard for the life that was lost, with no regard
Dear john will you come with me
Dear john will you come with me
Dear john will you come with me
Dear john will you come with me
Follow
me
to paradise
Look over your shoulder, you stole her. Its over
To start we’ll lop off your head
We’ll give you six feet of blankets for a goodnight sleep
(Say a prayer for the dead and buried)
We’ll give you six feet
Say a prayer for the dead and buried
You’ll be joining them real soon
Say a prayer for the dead and buried
You’ll be joining them real soon
The easy way or the hard way.
You never learned your lesson
The easy way or the hard way.
You never learned your lesson
Take a deep breath before we’re back on the road again
I killed the forest with just one match.

Hmm... no one's commented yet? This is one of my fav's on the new album.
I think this song has to do with fairness (hence the name, but then again, names don't always mean much with some FBTMOF songs) in the sense that if if you do something bad, you will be punished in one form or another. He seems to be burning a forest and then will be dying in the smoke. It also seems to make a reference to peer pressure and how that gets you in trouble -> "Dear john will you come with me"
Oh, wait... I think this may be about drugs then. It being about drugs ties in all the key points of the song. He's burning something and there is lots of smoke and then the peer pressure and asking him to "Follow me to paradise" such as getting high and then killing yourself from them. The band isn't sxe because I saw the drummer smoking while warming up before a set at a show. Either my first idea or the other, but not exactly sure.
first off i think that they are saying that as trees are being deminished no one is caring about it. and as for the rest i think it has something to do with the bible. God or jesus asking john if he will go with him
some people just do things without thinking about who was hurt, and how they are affected. someone can be so easily hurt, and yet it can do so much damage. some people wont ever learn
wtf shixtsuxren...? hmmm i guess i shouldn't say to much though because we all have our opinions...but seriously fbtmof writing about asking god to be with him???????????!!lmfao, eh anywho i think the dood above me said it all perfectly
I think people are over analyzing this song. It's about starting a forest fire, and having "no regard for the life that was lost". I think it doesn't go any deeper than that.
Muslim extremists' belief that the 9/11 attacks would get them into Heaven.
I burned with dave in one time and he said that this song was about bands that dont make it. there so many bands out there the law of averages states that the vast majority of them will not make it
"Say a prayer for the dead and buried You’ll be joining them real soon" its about a band dying

I'm pretty sure the " dear john will you come with me, follow me to paradise" is an allusion to John Milton's Paradise Lost.
