With Heaven on Our Side Lyrics

Time, our precious time
In the beginning
Your heart and mine
I thought our love was one of a kind
I thought we were winning
But I was one step behind

Words I couldnt say the words that would keep you from running away
But I should've tried, even begged you to stay
I felt the tears of an angel fall from heaven that day

I know, I know
Your voice keeps haunting me
Come home, come home
Come on back to me
I know it aint easy
You're a part of me
You're the wings on my heart

Can we give our love another try?
Can we keep our broken dreams alive?
Now, more than ever
With heaven on our side

Can we give our love one more night?
I miss you angel, can we make it right?
Now and forever, with Heaven on our side

This tender love slipped through our hands
Two broken hearts, could not withstand it
Girl, I know what I put you through
If you need me now I'll be there for you

And I know it aint easy
You're still a part of me
You're the wings on my heart

Can we give our love another try?
Can we keep our broken dream alive?
Now, more than ever
With Heaven on our side

Can we give our love just one more night?
Oh angel baby, shine your golden light
Now and forever, I know Heaven's on our side

Give our love another try
Can we keep our broken dream alive?
Now, more than ever
With Heaven , Heaven on our side

This song's best part is the first three stanzas before the cheesy chorus. I think the song would have better potential without the chorus being repeated a million times in the last four minutes of the song. It's really poetic, those first three stanzas. The chorus really kills it and reminds me of the 80s influence, haha.

This is another great tune by foreigner. Lou Gramm expresses his phenominal vocal range....very versatile. One of the greatest rock n roll frontman ever. Too bad had a brain tumor and can't hit that high stuff like he used to. Nonethless, it was a great era, and this song adds to the greatness of foreigner and the 70s/80s rock era where the frontman and musicians were extraordinarily talented.
