Who in his sane mind could ever put some songs like "Cuckoo for Caca" and "Ugly in the Morning" together, in the same album that "I started a Joke" and "Just a Man" are? This album is big joke about a band that once was loved by the press and momentaneous fans and that is into a decadent phase, going out of Show Bizz ("King for a day, fool for a lifetime"). The Bee Gees cover means that, no matter the nonsense things you put together in the album, if there is a pop hit song, some dumbs will put in on the radio or tv to get some money more over the band and the ones that buy everything that's in the media. This is the joke and "I started a joke" is the meaning of the entire album.
