The Cure were a Punk band at the time they did this song, and part of the whole Punk ethic was to shock, so they obviously just wrote this song to be shocking in a very tongue-in-cheek manner. I also find this song hilarious, maybe it would have been better suited to Gary Glitter! :)
is it just me or has this song always given you that creepy feeling that maybe robert doesn't have kids for a reason
@xpsychicheartsx I used to wonder that when i was a kid over 20 years ago. Go listen to the lyrics to The Boy I never Knew. Very sad, about a late miscarriage or a stillborn. I think after that it tore them up far too much to try again. I enjoy having no kids and all my attention goes on my hubby and vice versa. If Robert had tendencies of a sick nature I am sure we would have heard about it by now- esp with all the kids in his family....
