Surprise Truck Lyrics
Well some people say
That it's the ice cream truck
But it's not
No it's not, and it's not the magic bus
It's not one of the family's buses
Oh, and it's not the ice cream truck and it's
It's not the sheriff's truck
No it's not the sheriff's truck
And they say it walks a line between good and evil
And sometimes it's bad, but it's not
And sometimes it's good, but it's not,
No it's not
And it's not the magic bus
And it's not a cement truck
No, it's a surprise truck
Surprise truck, it's a surprise truck
Oh yeah, it's a surprise truck
Surprise truck
That it's the ice cream truck
But it's not
No it's not, and it's not the magic bus
Oh, and it's not the ice cream truck and it's
It's not the sheriff's truck
No it's not the sheriff's truck
And sometimes it's bad, but it's not
And sometimes it's good, but it's not,
No it's not
And it's not a cement truck
No, it's a surprise truck
Surprise truck, it's a surprise truck
Oh yeah, it's a surprise truck

This is a song about a surprising truck. Or something.
where are all you camper fans?
You know how in films where someone steps in the road and they got run over suddenly even when there was no sound of an approaching vehicle ?
That's a surprise truck.
It is not the Magic Bus that The Who sang about. That's for sure.
I always thought it was a truck, with a guy in it...who might have candy. The same guy from the Vandals song "Viking Suit" maybe.

This song is a parody of some of the more overblown and ridiculous examples of the 60s space rock genre.
American stasis: we never turn the page. Hearkens to Kesey's Pranksters ("the family's buses"), 1968 Chicago convention and American Realism - the cement truck. I get a flavor for Edward Hopper's paintings, hallucinogenic driven riffs (played pretty well).
They never identify the "Surprise Truck" because they can't. It falls out of the norm. Someone turned the page and cognitive dissonance ensued. I wish it was the ice cream truck: I'm hungry!
well its a 20 year old band sheesh.
