Hmm, why are there so few comments for Within Temptation. I find you have to at least think about what these songs mean when you listen to them. As for this one, I'm not too sure, perhaps she's in love with some evil sea god perhaps....?
I think it's about one's love for the ocean, someone that is willing to risk his/her life to be out at sea
I think that the sea is a metaphor for her relationship which is sort of stormy cos the guys sorta dangerous, but she can't stay away.

One such religion named their sea god Neptune,and his "son/messengar" was named Aquarius.That is where the zodiac name came from. Maybe this song is about a woman's/goddess' love for Aquarius?
it is about Aquarius. i mean the star sign aquarius. if you know any typical aquarius and you're not one yourself you'll get the words of this song. now i never asked sharon what it really means, but for ME it means you're attracked to someone who isn't like you and therefore is sort of an adventure, something new, something dangerous. you enjoy it, but also are aware that the dangers remain.
aquarius is unpredictable. very adventurous. a danger to ppl who are a taurus, like me LOL. i know what i'm saying...i know an aquarius...and i can see him in this song.
and yes, if you ask me the orchestra in the beginning sounds like a movie soundtrack for a film like "titanic" where oceans and stuff are involved. it soooo sounds like you're on a rocky ship going across the sea on huge waves. and underneath the waves is aquarius, the water bearer.

I'm an Aquarius, and it does indeed mean to me that whoever she's singing about (herself?) that that person is attracted to a complete opposite personality from hers, and it's a wild ride, but she can't get enough. I know that if I meet (well, already have, but he was taken, boohoo) a wild and dangerous guy, I'd be completely attracted, and probably couldn't get enough, no matter how bad the relationship was for me... Rebel girl... tsk tsk...
By the way, I absolutely love Within Temptation.
To me, it seems she's in love with a guy who is sort of dangerous, like the sea, and the relationship is not going good, but feels she needs to stay with him.

It sounds to me like she's in love with a guy who's not really like her, and everyone's warning her that he isn't right for her, but she wants to be with him anyway. In a way, it kind of reminds me of one of my stories.
