I think this song (btw, the acoustic version is way better ;)lol.) is about trying to leave behind the memory of someone you lvoe and finding someone new. But you realize, there is no one else and even though it's painful to be alone with that feeeling, you're thankful for meeting a person as incredible as them; you're grateful for the experience.

gorgeous. it sounds to me like he's been without this girl for a while, and he is just now committing to getting over her. sometimes it takes a while.

It's like he is telling her that he's sorry, but his feelings have changed. Maybe he thought he...
It's like he is telling her that he's sorry, but his feelings have changed. Maybe he thought he was really in love with her. Maybe he even told her so. But something in the relationship changed and he realized his feelings weren't what he thought.

There's a time and a place...maybe that's saying he finally realized how he felt, he just finally was in a certain mindset where it clicked. And he may care about her a lot still, but loving a friend just isn't the same as being in love anymore.
However, he goes on to state that he never regrets anything. Which probably means he did care about her deeply. He doesn't regret being with her at all, but he's just come to realize it's not the right relationship for him.
And then the chorus...I feel like the girl was his comfort zone, you know? And he's finally letting it go and leaving it behind and moving on. But he'll always rememeber their time together.
