Perfect To Stay Lyrics
She said good day boy
Are you ready to shake
I said I love noise
And this life that it makes
See I have a line
though it's subject to change
I once had a thought
but then I gave it away
Yeah sooner or later
I'll be perfect to stay
I'll be perfect to stay
I'll be perfect to stay
She said good night boy
Are you feeling alone
I said I love time
But never ever this long
See I have a line
though it's subject to change
I once had a thought
but then I gave it away
Yeah sooner or later
I'll be perfect to stay
I'll be perfect to stay
I'll be perfect to stay
Like the sun surely loves
It's newborn days, yeah
Like all oceans love their waves
I'm perfect to stay
See I have a line
though it's subject to change
I once had a thought
but then I gave it away
Yeah sooner or later
I'll be perfect to stay
I'll be perfect to stay
I'll be perfect to stay
(Ooooh)
(Ooooh)
(Ooooh)
I'll be perfect to stay
Are you ready to shake
I said I love noise
And this life that it makes
though it's subject to change

but then I gave it away
Yeah sooner or later
I'll be perfect to stay
I'll be perfect to stay
I'll be perfect to stay
Are you feeling alone
I said I love time
But never ever this long
though it's subject to change
I once had a thought
but then I gave it away
Yeah sooner or later
I'll be perfect to stay
I'll be perfect to stay
I'll be perfect to stay

I love this song, especially the first two stanzas of it. I'm surprised nobody's commented on it yet.
I went to live in Australia for a while back in January and I was scared out of my mind. But on the plane, for some reason this song calmed me down and I ended up having the time of my life over there =)
Such a beautiful song. I've longed for a woman I could love all my life, and I think I may have found her. Every time I hear of this song, I instantly think of her.
i like this song a lot too.. "the sooner or later i`ll be perfect to stay" i think it talks about the time when one is ready for a real commitment , not afraid but really sure and confident about it .... "see i have a line...." i think is about how much we change as we grow older....
Great Song.....thats all i can say.
As a published songwriter and huge fan of this incredible band (too good for the dumb masses who don't understand brilliance in music, art and creativity) I can tell you that this is an underage boy in love with an older woman. "...how much we change as we grow older."
"She said good night BOY Are you feeling alone? I said I love time But never ever this LONG"
And just the title of the song "SOONER OR LATER I'LL BE Perfect to stay" doesn't imply a problem in an adult relationship. This song is talking about something out of the boy's power to embrace his love because it would be illegal and he doesn't want to get her in trouble. Love has boundaries, thanks to laws from people thinking they know what's best for their citizens and THEIR children. I personally don't endorse relationships where one of the parties is under 16. I'm old, and back in the day, if the same laws applied to my mom and dad, my dad would be a sex offender, unrightfully so. They met at church, hung out at their fatherless homes while their mother's worked, and nature runs it's course. My mother was 14 and my dad 18, my mom had my sister when she was 15, then me at 16, and my brother at 18. By that time, my dad was 22. They were married and living with my grandmother. It was very hard for them, but here I am, and unfortunately both my parents took their Final Journey when they both hit 85 years old (four years apart, my father first).
So my mom's children were lucky in some circumstances of having a beautiful but very strict mother who salesmen and men in general thought that my brother and I were my mom's younger brothers. I feel bad about the punches I threw at a guy who was a lttile too loose with his tongue talking to my mom. My brother, well... ummmm... he has a condition from Spinal Menengitis but it didn't affect his growth to 6'5 and 335 lbs, with no patience for disrespect of his mother. He, uh... probably left some mess of a chauvanist pig in the alley behind JC Penneys. Ok law dogs, this was over 50 years ago when you could still be an American. (NOT A TRUMPER!!!)
