Is Anyone Here Alive? Lyrics

Sunrise always burns my eyes.
And outside, there may be zombies too.
The crawling mice in suits and ties
are blind to what makes this thing beautiful.

Is anyone here alive?
Is anyone here alive?
Is anyone here alive?
Lift up the lids of your eyes

Sunrise always burns my eyes.
But I'm not tired
No I won't sleep for hours
This city's old and full of ghosts.
I can see their skulls;
It makes no sense at all

Is anyone here alive?
Is anyone here alive?
Is anyone here alive?
Lift up the lids of your eyes

Is anyone here?
Is anyone. . .
I can't be the only one
I can't be the only one

Is anyone here alive?
Is anyone here alive?
Is anyone here alive?
Lift up the lids of your eyes

Hmm... first comment. Anyway, this song is awesome. It's about how everyone is like walking dead; they can't see beauty. The're just walking around with no purpose and he's saying to lift up your eyes and see the beauty and just live.

The emotion conveyed by this song always kinda makes me shiver. Mat and the gang perfectly capture their frantic desperation to find ...something... in their lives. An absolutely amazing song (and my favorite off of For Never & Ever), this song sometimes makes me feel as if I am the only one alive, the world around me gone.
