Do You Know Me Lyrics
Do you know me? I don't think so!
Do you know me? I don't think so!
You romanticize the dark and gloomy past
Trying to escape from the underclass
You darkened the bright and beautiful day
You're breaking my heart in every way
And tell me everything is dandy and fine
You're no friend of mine
I took you in and you stole from me
But you still got everything I need
You're walking so tall, you're looking so mean
You're walking so tall, you're looking so mean
But you tell me everything is dandy and fine
You're no friend of mine
Do you know me? I don't think so!
Do you know me? I don't think so!
You romanticize the dark and gloomy past
Trying to escape from the upper class
You darkened the bright and beautiful day
You're fucking up my head in every way
And tell me everything's dandy and fine
You're no friend of mine
Do you know me? I don't think so!
You romanticize the dark and gloomy past
Trying to escape from the underclass
You darkened the bright and beautiful day
You're breaking my heart in every way
And tell me everything is dandy and fine
You're no friend of mine
But you still got everything I need
You're walking so tall, you're looking so mean
You're walking so tall, you're looking so mean
But you tell me everything is dandy and fine
You're no friend of mine
Do you know me? I don't think so!

I thought this was a song Carl wrote called Billy Bilo?
no...that song is totally different, and i think Pete wrote Billy Bilo...
i havent herd tis song jus read it over so in tha case i can only take it n as a poem which it probably was originally and yeh it s gd
this is a good song i think it could perhaps have two takes on it :the medias perception of him and his lifestyle choices or his relationship with carl :Trying to escape from the underclass as him and carl got themselves out of poverty but then carl realised it wasnt as good as it sounded Trying to escape from the upper class
You're fucking up my head in every way And tell me everything's dandy and fine You're no friend of mine
this part suggests again thats its about carl
thats not official just what i think it could be about
I took you in and you stole from me
Sounds like barat wrote that 'bout the time pete stole the harmonica
Why wasn't this on the album, or "Man who came to stay"? or "Gang of gin" would have a made a good album into a fantastic one. Oh well I wont grumble, summers nearly over.
when I hear this song I always think of drug addiction, somebody on drugs talking about how their addiction fucked up their life.
In the Royalty Songs version I have of this song , after the 'I took you in and you stole...' verse. It goes:
They think they know you Yeah they think they know you but they only see one side How can they know you How can they know you when you don't show your Jekyll and just show your Hyde? And do you know me? No, I don't think so
Wonderful song :]
aint it just about drugs ?
I think davey should never post on forums again. Not every song Pete or Carl wrote is about drugs. Great song though. Well worth the price alone for the Albion LP.
