Killamangiro Lyrics

Ohhh ohhh ohhhh
Why would you pay to see me in a cage?
And why would you pay to see me in a cage?
Some men call the stage

Listen now
I have gone
You will know
I was the only one that would have died
What was wrong in the eyes of the unwell and unwise

And I killed a man for his giro today
Wasn't very gay, I didn't mind
I was a money man anyway
Killed a man for his giro today

Why, would you pay
Why, would you pay
To see me in a cage
It's all across the stage

And know
When the night has come
You might say
I was not the only the one who would've died
What was wrong in the eyes of the cruel and unwise
And I killed a man for his giro today

On the off chance that you miss me
To the radio
I thought you might like to know you broke my heart
Can only sadden up or hedge your bets
Or take a chance and never get you again
All my ties, time and time
I keep on trying hard not to try too hard
When I forgive, I won't forget
To killing time, so I'm better now
I don't need it...
Anything that makes you, feel hate
Can do without hate
Now I believe in love

Now I have gone
Oh yeah, I will pay
For everything you've done
What was wrong
In the eyes of the unwell and unwise
And I killed a man for his giro today

Ohhh ohhh ohhhh

Everyone's like "oh Pete's a crackhead!" and all this bollox. Fair enough he is but he is one of the best song writers of this generation, and this song shows that. His lyrics are deep and meaningful and sometimes not very clear but all the same every song he has ever writen with Carl or without have been fucking legendary. The bloke is a genius.

The song 'Kill A Man For His Giro' was written before Pete left the band, but the verse midway through wasn't. That is in reference to his troubles with Carl/McGee etc.

Incidentally the lyrics posted for this said part are wrong.

Eg.

Its not;

On the off chance that you miss me...

Its;

On the off chance that yer listenin...

Its not about whos fault it is the libertines can't reform pete has to take responisibilities for his actions. And has no one noticed as time goes on he's becoming more and more impossible to work with not turning up to gigs being to mashed up to complete gigs. Its not easy to work with an addict and its even harder to have to watch your best friend destroy themselves. I think carl could have let it continue, let the libertines continue and have given pete no reason to even try giving up the smack. They could of made loads of money out of it , out of petes deteriation. Pete is hurt and its understandable but its hard to see the bigger picture when ur that messed up. And killamangiro well its just a song about being an addict being on the stage as some sort of freak show "why would you pay to see me in a cage" or maybe its about he'd actually make some money if "THEY"stopped trying to take away his freedom to do what he wants. That he's prepared to die for his decisions prepare to die in front of those that didn't understand. And about robbing to make the cash for the next score. The need being so bad that u would kill a man for his giro.

"anything that makes you fee hate, can do without hate" possible reference to the escapism and numbness that drugs provide.

This has nothing to do with thier relationship. Pete wrote this when he was in the libertines. It was original called \"Kill a man for his giro\"

if this is babyshambles and sounds totally like being a libertines' song... why doesn't pete just get his fucking ass up and talk to carl ? why can't the libertines exist again? its been one of the fucking best bands in the past years and it certainly is a pity.

Well as good as that sounds aren't you being a bit presumptious that its all Pete? On the Orange playlist he said both he and Carl aare still tryint to decide who the victim and villain is, so until that happens they cant forgive each other. And besides if yuo listen to Gang Of Gin, as far as the McGee Libertines goes, it aint gonna happen! I'd love it too... but doubt it.
