Insurgents Lyrics
Into the ice age and the red numbers and the codes
Now there's a canyon sized gap between the winners and the ones in the cold
Into a new world on a clean electronic tide all of my blood starts to freeze
When I think what's at the end of the ride
Into a world a world
I would never choose
Insurgents hold out
for what you know is true
Into consolidation of power into one
Great cell see it rise and devour
everything and everyone as well
Into the red dust and loose wires blowing around
I miss the nature of the heart and the feel of the innocent ground
I can't believe this
and I can't seem to find my place
Wandering outside the walls
with the dread seal on my face
Insurgents - Hold out now
Don't you know this world is ours
Now there's a canyon sized gap between the winners and the ones in the cold
Into a new world on a clean electronic tide all of my blood starts to freeze
When I think what's at the end of the ride
I would never choose
Insurgents hold out
for what you know is true
Great cell see it rise and devour
everything and everyone as well
Into the red dust and loose wires blowing around
I miss the nature of the heart and the feel of the innocent ground
I can't believe this
and I can't seem to find my place
Wandering outside the walls
with the dread seal on my face
Don't you know this world is ours

I'm suprised this song wasn't already on here. Definately one of the most powerful songs written by jesse and common rider.
I agree I just listened to this song and before I even read your post I though, "this is a powerful song." One of the more powerful of the common rider's...it kind of has that op ivy sound to it..in fact the whole four songs on the album have more of an op ivy sound then the rest of the common rider stuff. I think it is talking about the social gap in society "Now there's a canyon sized gap between the winners and the ones in the cold"....and he doesn't know where to fit in society...where his place is, and so he finds himself "wandering outside the walls" The insurgents refer to the people trying to shape everything to be the same or the powerful ones and "don't you know this world is ours" may refer to him wanting to take back this power and give it to the individual. That is just my outlook on the meaning of it...so it could be somewhat right, or totally wrong
