Lead Us Lyrics
Once again stripping
Cause the heat walking on my feet
Makes me tired and my own cause is too great
When I steal it for myself
And that's what brings me nearer to the rest
At my best it's the most I can do
Shifting my dream for one chance to breathe
And the blue in my eyes fades out
Gold and silver and diamonds in your eyes
I can't see them if the long awaited stays
What a great game, I found it in my grave
I'm not supposed to die I'm not supposed to be here
I'm driven on by leaders, so lead us
And that's what brings me nearer to the rest
At my best it's the most I can do
Shifting my dream for one chance to breathe
And the blue in my eyes fades out
Cause the heat walking on my feet
Makes me tired and my own cause is too great
When I steal it for myself
At my best it's the most I can do
Shifting my dream for one chance to breathe
And the blue in my eyes fades out
I can't see them if the long awaited stays
What a great game, I found it in my grave
I'm not supposed to die I'm not supposed to be here
I'm driven on by leaders, so lead us
At my best it's the most I can do
Shifting my dream for one chance to breathe
And the blue in my eyes fades out

i think its a very depressed song but a gr8 tune
I think he is saying that he has been lead by leaders that have merely led him astray, almost to deaths point.
This is my favourite song on the album. The piano bit after the first chorus and towards the end are amazing. Not too sure what it means though. About lack of confidence maybe?
Probably my favourite song off 'The Invitation' album. The lyrics are quite depressing, but I am quite intrigued by the line: "what a great game, I found it in my grave'- what does it mean? Yeah, as snowiersmack says, I think the song may be about lack of confidence and maybe how we follow/rely on others when we have no direction in our lives? x
