i think this is taken from thebook interview with a vampire of anna rice. the one whos walking through the night full of pain is loui from the book and the angle of the night could be lestat but i am not sure could be a "ordinary" vampire song too!

I guess it's a suicide song.. not an "ordinal" vampire song... Like if "something" (the Angels of the Dark = your mind) tells you that you have to "run away" (suicide) from all the fears and the pain

I don‘t know much about vampires so I can‘t say it‘s about them but certainly I think the songs a fictional one, with fantasy creatures (Angels of the Dark) and a misanthropist person that is this way due to suffering and pain in his life because of the people. The only way to join this Angels is via suicide. Religiously, suicide is a sin, so I think that‘s why they are in the “dark side“.
